Newton Community Education cover for their winter catalogue

"This is a wonderful portrait. The family of collars throughout the entire piece including the frame are very harmonious. The soft brush strokes and the light are also very compelling. Stylistcally there is something very smooth and flowing about the beds and curves in the piece: the outline of her hair, the arc of her hand, the neckline of her blouse. And with her face and her gaze to the left of centre, I get the feeling that she is looking out, but past the viewer, her concentration on something out out in this realm This is a portrait that keeps me looking."

Glinert's "Adagio" invites viewers closer as its use of light and shadow casts a dreamlike spotlight on the its subject. Without distraction to the well-rendered centrepiece, Glinert excels in capturing concentrated emotions, precise structure and movement, and a general sense of sincerity. A great work.
